The "Purvis Beer" retail store opened its doors in September 2010. Situated in the middle of the craft beer region of Richmond, Melbourne. Their aim was to establish a beer and cider only outlet that offered a massive range of imported and local craft beers. This was achieved with great success. From 2010 to now a lot has changed and the need for an online presence has sky-rocketed.
When we first spoke with Purvis Beer they were struggling with their online presence and not a very big threat to the other more serious online beer players in the market. There was of course a band of very loyal beer ‘lovers’ who kept the huge range and untapped knowledge of Purvis Beer a secret.
This is where we come in, to share the secret and spread the awesomeness that is the essence of Purvis Beer and their huge range of products. After analysing the competition we identified what needed to happen and tailored the website to their ideal clientele. People who love beer without all the fluff!We attacked social media with fury, we talked to beer lovers, people who bought beer for their partners, those wanting to join the craft beer cult, those long time beer aficionados and the people who thought they knew a lot about beer but their go-to was a commercial pale ale. (after a few chats with the guys in store the people in this last category had their minds opened) Sonder created a loyalty system for Purvis Beer which no one else was doing at the time, the Sonder team worked along side the Purvis crew to keep a steady pulse of social media posts and emails, including birthday emails flowing to stay at the forefront of peoples minds. Sonder empowered Purvis Beer to feel confident to update their site as new products came in and provided support along the way.
We addressed the pain points such as the delivery of orders as the number of online orders grew quickly and helped to automate their shipping process.
We are proud to say our formula was a success and Purvis Beer is now a market leader and online sales have exceeded expectations. What Purvis was taking in two years online they now take in a month. A happy Sonder client and happy beer drinkers.
